Using Essential Oils for Pain Relief
It’s important to remember that many essential oils for pain relief should not be applied directly to the skin. Instead, dilute them with neutral oils like almond oil or olive oil – use about 5 drops essential oil to 1 tbsp of neutral oil before use. You can also add a few drops of essential oil to a warm bath and take a soak to relieve aches and pains – this is an especially good way to relieve arthritis pain and muscle pains and spasms, since the hot water will also promote muscle relaxation.
You can also use diluted essential oils as a massage oil or for a headache, apply to the temples. You can also relieve headaches and other pain by simply smelling essential oils; just place a few drops onto a cloth and use this simple aromatherapy technique for pain relief.
